I have heard from quite a few of my clients this month who have come for Reflexology to help bring relief from stomach bloating, constipation and general digestive problems.
In my experience, Reflexology can work wonders to bring relief from these symptoms but it can take time to find the cause and support someone return to a state of balance again.
There can be many reasons for stomach bloating or constipation. It is always advisable to see your GP to check for any underlying medical conditions but, if nothing specific comes up, it could be linked to stress, anxiety or the types of food you are eating.
Whilst we do some Re-balancing Reflexology sessions and try to uncover the triggers for the bloating or constipation, I often teach my clients how to work on their hands to bring relief between our sessions if the symptoms arise.
Whilst often overlooked in favour of Foot Reflexology, Hand Reflexology can be just as effective and is a lot easier to practice whilst on the move!
Give it a try and see if these Reflexology points help you?

Give your hand a gentle hand massage before you start.
Take care of your thumbs or fingers, when massaging the Reflexology points below, by not pressing too hard!
I find the best results come from working slowly and taking deeper breaths as you work on the points.

1. Massage the solar plexus point on each hand

2. Massage over the stomach point on each hand

3. Start on the right hand, massage slowly in small circles (using your thumb or finger) up and then along.
Move to your left hand and massage along, down and round.
This represents the Colon zone and is excellent for alleviating constipation.

4. Give a gentle sweeping massage for the small intestine zone that rests inside the colon zones
