What is Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the theory that there are zones on the feet, hands or face that are believed to represent all the organs and parts/systems of the body. This practice involves the Reflexologist working with their fingers or thumbs to apply an appropriate pressure to each zone and this is thought to assist the body to return to a natural state of balance. After a session of Reflexology you may notice that you feel more relaxed, that body tension eases and you experience improved sleep, better mood and a sense of general improved wellbeing. Click on the above interactive foot map to help you see how parts of the body are reflected on the feet.

Why choose Reflexology with Felicity?

The way I work with Reflexology can be described as ‘intuitive’. This means that through being able to connect and work with you to interpret the signs and symptoms your body is expressing, I am able to guide you towards a greater awareness and understanding of yourself, including how to continue to support yourself on the journey to experiencing better general health, happiness and wellbeing. Alongside the Reflexology, I may also include some simple guided relaxation or visualisations to help you fully relax and get the most out of your session.

Recognising that we all have an incredible innate ability to heal given the right nurturing environment, my sessions are always focussed around providing a safe, confidential and supportive space for you open up and to re-discover what it is to feel a sense of your own inner balance, good health and wellbeing. You will find in me an attentive listener and confidante, capable of holding space for you to express any thoughts and feelings that you feel are relevant to the process of healing or that you feel you would like to share.

My role extends further than simply supporting you in your actual session, I also provide free after care and follow up which takes the form of contacting you to see how you are after your initial session (and subsequent sessions if there is need), being available for questions after your session or in the future and providing some lifestyle advice (with your consent), if it is appropriate, to support your ongoing health and wellbeing. You may even get ‘homework’ in the form of Reflexology points to practice on yourself!

Could Reflexology Help Me?

Reflexology can be received by people of all ages (including babies and young children). As a Reflexologist I acknowledge that people are unique and individual and so each person will respond differently to reflexology. There may be some incidences where Reflexology is not recommended so a full history of your health and wellbeing is discussed with you prior to receiving a session of foot Reflexology.

I have experience working with foot Reflexology with babies, children and adults, many of whom have accessed foot reflexology to help support them with different health conditions. We are all individuals and one person’s experience cannot be generalised to everyone but please do contact me if you would like to hear my own experience, or the experience of those I have worked with, who are living with different health conditions.

It is important to note that Reflexologists do not claim to diagnose, cure or prescribe and aim to work alongside allopathic medicine.

If you have any questions about how Reflexology could support you with your current experiences or health concerns please contact me directly using the email contact form or by telephone.

What happens when I go for a Treatment?

Initial treatments can take up to or above one hour and involve an in-depth consultation about your health needs and lifestyle.
Following the consultation you will sit or lie in a comfortable position and your Reflexologist will work on on your feet, hands or face (as agreed). At the end of the session any tension/congestion detected in the zones may be discussed with you.
